Most socks hold themselves up with a tight elastic top, and most have a seam running across the toes. On feet that can't always feel a rub, that's two small problems, worn all day, every day.
Most diabetic socks on the shelf are synthetic or cotton. In a 2026 review of 17 diabetic socks sold around the world, not one used mohair.
Mohair is different.
It comes from the Angora goat, and South Africa grows about half the world's supply. Mohair fibres are smoother than sheep's wool, so they glide instead of scratch, and mohair soaks up moisture without feeling damp.
We've made mohair socks in Cape Town since 1991. Our Diabetic Medical Sock is built around the three things diabetic feet need most: no squeeze, no rub, and dry.
Everyday colours: navy, black or charcoal. Nothing that looks like a hospital sock. Sizes 4 to 7 and 8 to 12.
People living with diabetes, and anyone with poor circulation, swollen ankles, arthritis, Raynaud's, chilblains, varicose veins, sweaty feet or sensitive skin. And anyone who simply hates tight sock tops.
Buying for someone else? Many of our customers do. Husbands, wives, moms and dads.

They hold gently on purpose, because a sock that doesn't squeeze can't grip like an ordinary one. Pull them up to full length and the ribbed leg does the rest. If they still slide, that's what the promise is for. This promise is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Protection Act and the ECTA. Full terms.
Coffee. Two minutes to look at your feet. A fresh, soft pair on before your shoes. One less thing to worry about.
These socks aren't for everyone. If socks that leave marks don't bother you, keep the ones you have. But if you'd like a pair that's kind to the feet all day, this is the easiest way to start.
